The Glamorama Drama of Rama Kama

Rama Kama
23 October 1981
I am a passion victim.

"...In the green autumnal parks conducting
All the city streets a wondrous chorus
Singing all these poses now no longer boyish
Made me a man ah, but who cares what that is..."

Rama Kama is more commonly known in the real, flesh-and-blood, densely populated, grotesquely polluted Third World as Jay Santiago. He was born in Laguna, Philippines, but at the age of 6 months, his parents relocated to the kingdom of Brunei Darussalam where he would grow from innocence to insolence.

He returned to his birthplace in 1998 to begin his college education, and has been happily(?) stuck on Philippine soil since. He has survived being a frequently drunk Thomasian for 4 years, a call center slogger for over 1 year and several months as an aimless, professional slacker.

He's believed to be the first openly homosexual DJ at the premiere Pinoy rock station NU 107 and has been trying to spread the message of accepting diversity in all aspects of life (whether in sexual orientation or musical predilection) since he joined the roster of rock jocks in 2005.

A short-lived stay at globally syndicated celebrity mag OK!'s Philippine Edition allowed him to realize that he isn't fabulous enough on a day-to-day basis to make it big in the publishing world, so he sticks to making regular contributions instead. He credits his experience with the magazine as an important contributor to his growth as a wannabe writer.

This journal started in 2002 as a means to access the entries of a one-time potential life partner (hence the numerous locked entries during its early stages), but it has now evolved into a space for cluttered thoughts, conflicted emotions, and queer curiosities.

The author doesn't take himself too seriously and believes you shouldn't either. Allow a line from one of his favorite films to illustrate this point further:

If you can't laugh at yourself, life's gonna seem a whole lot longer than you'd like.
